Purchase the Design and Build Your Own BeauSoleil Home

UL Lafayette has authorized the licensing of the trademarked name, logo and design of the BeauSoleil Home. The process consists of the homebuyer entering into an agreement for professional design services with a pre-approved designer.

The two pre-approved designers are graduates of UL Lafayette's School of Architecture & Design and were both officers on the Solar Decathlon Team which designed the original BeauSoleil Home. They have been licensed by the university to use the BeauSoleil name, logo and design.

The pre-approved designers will work directly with the homebuyer to customize the home for their particular needs, property and options (IE 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms and finishes, etc.) desired. Additionally, a licensed engineer will design a suitable foundation for the homebuyer's lot.

Finally, the homebuyer will contract with a builder of their choice to construct the BeauSoleil Home on their lot with the pre-approved designer observing construction to make sure that the home conforms to the construction drawings and the trademark.
